about

I grew up on the San Bernardino Freeway, a few miles east of downtown Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Valley. Sometimes referred to collectively as East L.A., due to the large population of Mexican-Americans, or the Far East, due to the equally large, and in some areas, larger, population of Asian-Americans. The San Gabriel Valley is one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse regions in the country.

The cities featured in most of these stories are Rosemead, Alhambra, Monterey Park, Temple City, Baldwin Park, La Puente, Pasadena...
